The C3 Picasso has 5 seats, including 3 rear seats which can fold down to increase the boot capacity from 385-500 litres. The exclusive model also features a folding front passenger seat.[2]
The C3 Picasso is available with a top speed of 117 mph and 120 bhp, a choice of 2 diesel or 2 petrol engines and in seven trim levels:
All versions come with a five-speed manual gearbox, although a semi-automatic and a six speed manual version are expected in 2011, along with a new eco-friendly and economical Stop/Start system, which Citroën claims to reduce CO2 emissions significantly.[3][4]
In August 2009, Citroën released a 90th Birthday Limited Edition C3 Picasso, to commemorate 90 years of Citroën. In the UK, it was limited to 150 examples, of which only 1 has been sold and registered for use as of 2011.[5]
In August 2010, the Brazilian division of Citroën introduced the Citroën AirCross, a C3 Picasso with an off-road look. Comparing with the original C3 Picasso, AirCross has a different interior, rear (with a spare tire), and a grid between the headlights.
In May 2011, more than 20,000 C3 Picassos were recalled for a safety modification in the UK, following complaints and an investigation by BBC programme Watchdog into brakes that could be activated on the passenger side of the right-hand drive vehicles.[6][7] Despite this the vehicle has continued to sell well in the UK.[8]
